Women's Invitational Baseball competition comes to Aquatic Reserve, Frenchs Forest, Sydney

The NSW Women’s Baseball League in conjunction with the Manly Warringah Baseball Association will be hosting the 2013 Australia Day weekend Women’s Invitational Baseball Tournament.

This is the showcase competition for elite players from across the nation presenting to the public the best of the talent in women’s baseball in Australia and it now enters its fourth year.

This four (4) day round robin tournament is held annually over the Australia Day weekend in Sydney. In 2013 it will be held from 25th – 28th January at Aquatic Reserve, Frenchs Forest on Sydney’s northern beaches.

The tournament is growing both in stature every year and for 2013 we have ten (10) teams entered into 2 separate divisions of competition.

This provides the opportunity to not only showcase players from the Australian National Team but also those fringe players vying for positions in the State and National sides. Approximately 200 of the best women baseball players from all States will converge on the Manly area for this event as they prepare for the National Championships to be held in Ballarat Victoria in April.

The teams will contest in a round robin style event where they will play four games over three intensive days of baseball and compete for a spot in the final. For the winner of each division there will be a cash prize.

Set aside the Australia Day weekend to come to Aquatic and support the very best of women in baseball that Australia has to offer.
